We believe that every child should have the right to a curriculum that champions excellence; supporting pupils in achieving to the very best of their abilities. We understand the immense value technology plays not only in supporting the Computing and whole school curriculum but overall in the day-to-day life of our school. We believe that technology can provide: enhanced collaborative learning opportunities; better engagement of pupils; easier access to rich content; support conceptual understanding of new concepts and can support the needs of all our pupils.
By the end of Year Six children will have been given:
- The knowledge to use the internet responsibly, with an understanding of their digital footprint and the tools to stay safe online.
- The opportunity to use a range of computer programs and applications in preparation for computer competency in secondary education and beyond into the workplace.
- The skills to understand the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science, including abstraction, logic, algorithms and data representation.
- The ability to analyse problems in computational terms, and have repeated practical experience of writing computer programs in order to solve such problems.
